I once saw a video where a monkey stares at the hero having a banana. The hero finishes eating and nicely throws the banana skin on the road. The monkey picks up the banana skin and puts it in a dustbin just beside the road. The hero, watching all this, wonders that we, humans, are much more undisciplined than we think we really are.
Yes, that’s true!! Right from our childhood we are taught to keep our premises clean, to use dustbins and that all this helps in our health and hygiene. But, we are indifferent to all these teachings that education has taught us and we continue to do the way we are comfortable with. We simply have a cup of tea and nicely throw the cup in the drainage. We know that stagnation of water in the drainage, piling of dirt all around and unclean surroundings are the root causes of major diseases that prevail in the world. But, who cares? Everyone does it and so we too do it.

If you wish that Indian roads should look like the ones in Singapore or Mexico, then you know what to do. You need not take a broom and clean the roads yourself, but make sure you don’t add to the pathetic condition of the roads.
Real education is the one that gives us wisdom along with knowledge. If you have only knowledge and do not use wisdom to do the right things at the right time, then there’s absolutely no difference between you and an illiterate. I think each of us have to question ourselves “Am I really educated?”
